A little about Mr. Cooper...I graduated from Cadillac High School in 2000 and went to Grand Valley State University for my bachelor's degree in education. Right after graduation I moved down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in hot pursuit of a girl (now my wife). I taught 4th grade in Baton Rouge for three years in a pretty tough school. Since I moved to Traverse City, I have taught first grade, third grade, fourth grade, I was an aide in a kindergarten class, but I've spent the majority of my teaching career in the grade I love the most, fifth. I earned my master's degree in education and technology integration from Nova Southeastern University.
In my free time I'm either fishing, catching creatures with Mack, playing basketball with Case, or hanging on our boat with the whole fam. I've been married to my wonderful wife, Dr. Mindy since 2006. She is a veterinarian at Bay West Animal Hospital. We have two sons. Case is in seventh grade and Mack is in fourth. I've been part of the Traverse City Area Public School system since 2008. I love teaching 5th grade and look forward to the best year yet! |
